Let`s bake together traditonal, authentic German and European sweets and pastries!

I am Anni, a Nutritionist by profession and a baking expert from Germany.

Since my childhood I love to bake and to create delicious pastries is my great passion. That`s why I turned my passion into a profession and studied nutritional science and home economics.

My baking creations are always a hit at family gatherings and friends parties.

Last year I moved from Germany to Dubai and soon I started to miss traditional German food, especially German sweets and pastries, like the typical German "Brötchen" (black rolls) and "Hefeteilchen" (yeast pastries). Sometimes I also miss the German cake & coffee time at 3 pm, so I decided to bring the German and European baking culture into the United Arab Emirates, UAE.

Primarily this blog is for all of those who love the German or European baking culture, grown up in Germany, as well as for the people in UAE who are interested to dip into the amazing and delicious world of German cakes and sweets. It is my great pleasure to show you how to create easy and delicious German recipes.

I love to see you here, staying a while and bookmark some of my recipes or baking advices, so we can bake together!

About My Personal Life

When I was a child I loved to bake with my grandmother whole night in her kitchen. We baked so many cakes and just had fun with it. The German cheesecake (K채sestreuselkuchen) or apple cake (Altdeutscher Apfelkuchen) was one of our favorites. Also the pineapple creme cake (Ananas-Sahnetorte) or egg liquor cake (Eierlikörtorte) couldn`t be missed on any family birthday.

I always loved to make others happy with my baking passion and hospitality. So, I decided to combine my passion for baking with my profession and started to study in Muenster in the field of nutrition and food quality. After my bachelor degree, I worked for several known national and international food companies in the quality assurance department in Germany.

Why I came to Dubai, UAE?
It all started with a desire to visit Dubai. I was grown up in Germany, Bergisch Gladbach. I travelled a lot in all european countries, but also to USA and Asia with my family and later with friends. I never came to Dubai, until April 2023. I was so curious about this city - the lifestyle, people, culture and energy - which became emerged over the last years more and more. And yes, everything is different here compared to Germany. I sensed for myself to deep dive into this new life here in Dubai at this particular time, is the best decision for me right now. I met my life & business partner here, so the choice to leave Germany after spending my whole life there, was suddenly so easy. My mission and vision in my new life in Dubai is to bring a part of the German baking culture and values to UAE and to adapt the quality standard in food as well. I am so happy to share my journey and experiences with you and if you like to attend me here on my blog, your are very welcome!
